Who is Sandhills Energy?

Sandhills Energy is a renewable energy developer committed to accelerating the growth of sustainable energy adoption by utilities and farming communities. We work to create positive and lasting landowner relationships with clean energy, so they can reap the long-term benefits and become more energy independent.

Renewable energy is energy derived from resources that are naturally replenished, such as sunlight, wind, water, tides, waves, geothermal heat, and biomass. These energy sources are considered “renewable” because they do not deplete over time like fossil fuels.

There are a multitude of benefits to using renewable energy, and they have a positive impact on not only the environment, but our land, communities, and economy.

  1. Energy Independence: Have more control over your own energy and avoid blackouts.
  2. Economic Growth: When farmers and landowners host renewable energy projects, it can provide a stable source of income for them.
  3. Naturally Replenished: Renewable energy is an inexhaustible power source.
  4. Cost Savings: There are upfront costs when installing renewable energy infrastructure, but in the long run, renewable energy leads to lower operating costs compared to fossil fuels. This means a lower energy bill for consumers.
  5. Community Empowerment: Community-owned solar and wind farms can empower coal communities by providing them with a stake in the energy generation process, along with financial benefits.
  6. Job Creation: Between installation, maintenance, and manufacturing of renewable energy technologies, there are many job opportunities.
  7. Reduced Carbon Footprint: Unlike fossil fuels, renewable energy sources do not produce carbon dioxide and other harmful pollutants when generating electricity. It helps stabilize and ultimately reduce the concentration of greenhouse gasses in the atmosphere.
