Bio
Michael joined us in 2015 and now oversees over 1 GW of Midwest renewable energy – and has 2 GW in the pipeline – while also maintaining the majority of our involvement with wind energy projects.
He earned his Bachelor’s degree in English and Philosophy from Bloomsburg University, where he was the first person in the University’s then 159-year history to graduate with all four highest academic achievements: Honors, Scholars, and Outstanding Graduating Major in both English and Philosophy.
Michael earned his Master of Arts in Liberal Studies from Reed College and a Master of Arts in Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution from Hacettepe Üniversitesi, Ankara Turkey. His path diverted towards renewable energy after pursuing a Master’s in Peace and Conflict Resolution with an environmental focus, which is a big part of what led him to the renewable energy space. Prior to Sandhills, he served the Western Arts Alliance, a non-profit membership organization supporting the performing arts in the western US and Canada.
Beyond his Sandhills responsibilities, Michael serves on the Cody Village Board of Trustees and is Board Director for the non-profit, student-run Circle C Community store in Cody, NE. He’s also a part of the Nebraska Wind and Solar Conference planning committee, where he works to present accurate and objective information related to wind and solar energy to Nebraska.
- Elected Board Director for the Village of Cody since 2019
- Planning Committee Member for the Nebraska Wind and Solar Conference
- Membership and Communications Manager for Western Arts Alliance
