The Problem

The city of Valentine, Nebraska needed a way to reduce peak electric rates during the winter heating season, as well as the overall kilowatt per hour rate paid by local utility customers.

The Solution

Valentine Wind, LLC is a 1.85 MW wind turbine owned by Bluestem Energy Solutions. The project was developed for Cherry County Wind, the largest land cooperative in the United States. The project began development in 2012 and was completed in September of 2014.

The Outcome
