The sun is the most renewable energy source on our planet.  Capturing and using energy from the sun creates no emissions that can damage our environment and produces no hazardous waste that must be carefully stored away for centuries.  It can provide all of our energy needs for the forseeable future, and the best part is that is is free.  The two main types of solar energy are:

Solar Photovoltaic or electric: Makes electricity directly from the sun.

Solar Thermal: Makes hot water from the sun to supplement hot water production, heating and dehumidifcation.
